Welcome to Alone Together, a blog where we explore the ways that single-player games can bring people together and the gaming cultures that form around them.
Throughout my life as a gamer, playing games has again and again brought me closer to many of the most important people in my life. A significant number of these experiences have actually been with single player games, either that I’ve played with friends and family in the same room, simultaneously while talking online, or just by talking with people who have played the same games as me and realizing we have a whole shared world that we can discuss and share stories from.
There are countless ways that games can bring people together, playing multiplayer games together being the most obvious one, but I would like to explore some of the subtler, more unique ways that games can do this. So cozy up to your screen and join me in exploring the ways single-player games can bring us together.
